Punctuation

Objectives

When you finish this lesson, you should be able to proofread for punctuation

Demonstration of Competence

When you are ready to demonstrate your competence, e-mail Dr. Hogan explaining that you can proofread for punctuation.

This course doesn't spend much time on punctuation because most proofreaders have a good grasp of punctuation when they come into the course. Our K-12 and college English teachers focused on punctuation, probably because punctuation errors are very noticeable and easier to teach. However, you may have to spend more time on this lesson if you did not receive the training in punctuation usage.

Make sure that you know how to spot each punctuation error before you go on to the next.
